By leveraging BIOGEST’s in-house expertise in plant development and operation, BIOP continuously strengthens and expands its portfolio. Through targeted investments in high-quality biogas and biomethane projects, BIOP actively contributes to the efficient conversion of organic resources into clean, renewable energy—positioning itself as a strong, independent player in the global sustainable energy market.
With an output of 560 Smc/h, the Collarmele project in the fertile Fucino basin marks a significant milestone for the BIOGEST Group: it is the first Own Plant Operation (OPO) project under the new BIOP brand.
Located in the Lazio region near Rome, the Roma plant will process approximately 53,000 tonnes per year of cattle manure, olive pomace, poultry manure, and vegetable residues into 475 Nm³/h of biomethane using BIOGEST’s PowerRing technology.
Each year, the plant will help avoid approximately 17,000 tons of CO₂ emissions, supply renewable energy to over 3,000 European households, and produce nearly 500 tons of organic fertilizer, according to the EBA Green Impact Translator.
