Collarmele, Italy
With an output of 560 Smc/h, the Collarmele project in the fertile Fucino basin marks a significant milestone for the BIOGEST Group: it is the first Own Plant Operation (OPO) project under the new BIOP brand.
Located in Campania, Italy, the Benevento plant will process around 37,000 tonnes per year of olive pomace, chicken and cattle manure, slurry, and straw into 363 Nm³/h of biomethane using BIOGEST’s PowerRing technology.
Each year, the plant will help avoid approximately 17,000 tons of CO₂ emissions, supply renewable energy to over 3,000 European households, and produce nearly 500 tons of organic fertilizer, according to the EBA Green Impact Translator.
By transforming olive oil mill residues into biomethane and fertilizer, the project creates high-value, sustainable products while addressing waste challenges. The GREEN APP concept was developed to further enhance the valorization of by-products from the olive oil industry.
